Summer is such a beautiful time to reset, simplify, and build daily wellness habits that can carry us right into the colder months. There’s something about longer days, fresh air, more sunshine, and slower rhythms that makes it feel a little easier to focus on taking care of yourself.
At our house, summer is one of our favorite seasons to lean into simple wellness habits that help us feel energized, focused, supported, and more in tune with what our bodies need. And the best part? It doesn’t have to be complicated. Small steps add up, and a few simple daily choices can make a big difference over time.
If you’ve been wanting to feel better, support your energy, stay on track with self-care, and create a more balanced lifestyle, here are some of our favorite summer wellness tips to make it doable today.
Start with a Daily Wellness Drink

If there was just one habit to focus on this summer, starting your day with a nutrient-rich wellness drink can be such a game changer. A simple daily wellness drink can help support energy, antioxidants, and overall nourishment in a way that feels easy to stay consistent with.
2 oz. of NingXia Red is our family's go-to way to start the day strong. This delicious supplement packs serious antioxidants and nutrients that keep us energized and thriving. - add sparkling mineral water
- a drop or two of Orange Vitality™ or any Young Living Vitality️™ essential oil of your choosing.
When you start your day with something intentional, it helps the rest of the day feel more aligned too.
Make a Simple Wellness Roller for Daily Support
A wellness roller is one of the easiest ways to support your body naturally during summer and beyond. It’s simple to make, easy to keep on hand, and helpful for daily use.

- 25 drops Thieves® essential oil blend
- 25 drops Pine essential oil
- 25 drops Lemon essential oil
- 20 drops Geranium essential oil
- 20 drops Frankincense essential oil
- Fill the rest with a carrier oil of choice. Roll on as desired.
Stay Hydrated for Energy, Digestion, and Summer Travel

Staying properly hydrated is one of the simplest and most effective ways to support your body during the summer months, especially if you’re outside more, sweating more, or traveling.
Proper hydration supports digestion, helps reduce bloating, and helps your body stay balanced when routines are different than usual. If you’re traveling, it becomes even more important. Summer adventures, road trips, flights, and busy days can all increase physical stress on the body.
One general rule of thumb for water intake is to multiply your body weight in pounds by 0.67. So if you weigh 120 pounds, you would aim for around 80 ounces of water a day.
A few practical hydration tips:
- Bring a large reusable water bottle with you wherever you go. Note: we only use glass or metal water bottles never plastic.
- If filtered tap water isn’t an option, choose quality bottled water whenever possible
- A filtered water bottle can be a great investment for travel and everyday use
Hydration may seem basic, but it really is foundational. Sometimes the most powerful wellness habits are the simplest ones.
Support Gut Health with a Daily Probiotic

Summer schedules can be all over the place. Travel, eating out more often, special events, and changes in routine can all affect digestion. That’s why supporting gut health can be especially helpful this time of year.
A daily probiotic can be a simple way to help support digestive balance and immune health. Since the gut plays such a key role in the immune system, giving it a little extra support can go a long way. Click here to read more! You can get yours here >>> Young Living's Life 9.
This can be especially helpful when trying new foods, eating away from home more often, or navigating summer travel. Keeping your digestive system happy can help you feel more comfortable, energized, and steady while enjoying the season.
Pack Healthy Snacks to Make Summer Days Easier

Busy summer days can quickly lead to convenience food, processed snacks, and grabbing whatever is easiest. We’ve all been there. One of the best ways to feel better on the go is to prepare simple, nourishing snacks ahead of time.
When packing snacks, think about protein and fiber. Protein helps keep you fuller longer, and fiber helps support healthy digestion and regularity.
Some of our favorite healthy summer and travel-friendly snacks include:
- Raw fruit like apples, pears, oranges, and grapefruit
- Raw veggies like sliced cucumber, carrot sticks, bell pepper, cauliflower, and broccoli
- Trail mix with your favorite combination of walnuts, almonds, Brazil nuts, dried fruit, and pumpkin seeds
- Homemade energy balls
Having nourishing snacks ready to go can make a huge difference in how you feel throughout the day, especially when you’re away from home.

Homemade Energy Balls Recipe
Energy balls are one of our favorite make-ahead snacks for summer outings, road trips, park days, and busy afternoons. They’re simple, filling, and easy to customize with ingredients you already love.
Here is a basic homemade energy ball recipe you can make ahead for a quick on-the-go snack!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup old-fashioned oats
- 1/2 cup nut butter
- 1/3 cup honey or maple syrup
- 1/2 cup ground flaxseed
- 1/2 cup mini dark chocolate chips or raisins

- Optional: 1 tablespoon chia seeds, shredded coconut, or chopped nuts
Directions:
- Mix all ingredients together in a bowl until well combined
- Chill the mixture for 20 to 30 minutes
- Roll into bite-sized balls
- Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container
These are so easy to grab on your way out the door and are a great alternative to heavily processed snacks.
Set Yourself Up for Better Sleep

Sleep is one of the most important parts of overall wellness, but summer fun, travel, changing schedules, and later evenings can make it easy to get off track. The truth is, when sleep suffers, everything feels harder. Energy drops, digestion can feel off, and stress tends to rise.
Creating a few supportive sleep habits can make a big difference.
If travel or time changes throw off your routine, we grab Young Living's Deep Night Essence™ - a non-drowsy, melatonin-free supplement that promotes relaxation and may help support quality sleep. Read more here about Deep Night Essence™. . .
If you’re a light sleeper, packing an eye mask, ear plugs, a sound machine, or a supportive travel pillow can help create a better sleep environment away from home.
At home or on the go, we always keep our essential oils close. At bedtime, we add 4–5 drops of calming oils like Lavender, Peace & Calming, or Rutavala to the diffuser. We like to also apply a drop to the wrists or back of the neck to help the body unwind. No diffuser? Add 1–2 drops to your pillow for a peaceful bedtime routine.
And if sleep has been a struggle, it may also help to be more mindful of caffeine or alcohol, especially later in the day, since both can interfere with quality sleep.
Good sleep is never wasted. It’s one of the best forms of self-care we can give ourselves.
